Einstein once said, “Play is the highest form of research.” It’s hard to argue with his observation if we consider how adults have tried to fit into a mold just to be considered a serious grownup in society. Personal growth that is enjoyable and exciting is vital because it may help individuals better their lives, which is why Play Your Purpose Coaching was developed. Carol assists her clients in discovering their passion and renewing their energy in order to bring peace into their lives and enhance their well-being for a healthier existence.
Carol is a life coach who teaches her clients the importance of having fun and reconnecting with their inner child. Most people lose this passion and perspective of fun and joyfulness by the time they become young adults. Carol created Play Your Purpose Coaching, leveraging her many talents to make a difference in the world.
Passionate about teaching, she discovered a way to infuse self-improvement with being one’s self and having fun. This approach has helped her stay focused on her personal development goals while staying mentally refreshed through a process of fun and play. By using this path, she aims to help people go through their life journey feeling good—mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

Carol Dickson-Carr also presently teaches economics and workplace writing at Southern Methodist University. Her teaching doesn’t stop on campus—nor do the subjects she teaches. Her days are never dull as she is passionate about many things, especially music and movement, which she incorporates into her life in the form of private music lessons, “Play-Shops,” and fitness (Pilates, Strength Training, and Dance).
Carol is passionate about helping clients overcome negative elements in their lives that inhibit personal growth, such as depression and low self-esteem. She’s committed her life to serve both men and women, and she knows what it’s like to have fun while also improving herself and her life. Her goal is for everyone to feel heard, supported, and live as close to their best life as possible by optimizing their mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being (and energy) without feeling tied to a cookie-cutter approach to life.
Carol’s training and experience as an economics professor has given her the requisite soft skills invaluable to any coach—knowledge and teaching skills, an innate self-confidence, and a lot of empathy. Her music training and talent give her some additional skills that are valuable to fitness instructors, such as saving people’s voices, increasing their range, and increasing their agility. The possibilities are endless if you have the right advocate and the right tools.
Most people are burdened by their adult responsibilities and constrained by what they see as the rules set out by society. Carol is living proof that an individual can achieve their goals with the right mindset and passion. She believes that people can be the authentic selves they want to be, no matter what society tells them otherwise. For instance, she wasn’t initially formally trained as a fitness instructor, but because of her endurance and good health, she easily developed herself to become an effective and passionate instructor and got the certifications in the formats she teaches.
Carol Dickson-Carr’s Play Your Purpose Coaching approach frees the mind and gives any individual the ability to be the best at what they seek.
